What are lifting points and how do you select the right one for your application?19th July 2021

What are they?
The connection between any load and the lifting gear needs a lifting point. There are many different options available depending on your application including screw in eyebolts, load rings and weld on lifting brackets.

All are designed to ensure that once you attach the hook, rope, wire or chain slings etc. to the lifting point it is adequately secured so as not to not break free and, strong enough to lift and move the desired weight. 

When lifting anything it is highly important to keep your employees and yourself safe and critical that the lifting point is secured correctly to avoid it coming lose and objects falling from height.

LES Supply 48 Jib Cranes for the ElecLink Project2nd January 2018

Started early this year, the ElecLink project will ultimately give the UK access to the international electricity market enabling imports and exports of electricity which will result in cheaper energy in homes and businesses across the country. LES is proud to have supplied the 48 Jib Cranes, Hoists and Magnets used throughout the project to lift and place supporting infrastructure for an HVDC 1000MW electricity cable from France to the UK via the Channel Tunnel. The cranes were bespoke manufactured with unique features to enable them to be installed along a 1/2km long locomotive.
