WHAT ARE CRANE FORKS?

Crane forks are lifting equipment attachments primarily used in the lifting and moving of palletized materials and goods, by means of operating a crane. This, in essence, turns a crane into a forklift. Crane forks allow for palletized materials and goods to be, not only, elevated in environments a forklift may not be able to access, but elevated to heights beyond where a forklift can typically reach.

Crane forks are available in both manual and self balancing/automatic formats and are equipped with adjustable tines and height to accommodate for different dimensions and different loads. They can have mechanical, self, or hydraulic levelling systems to ensure safe and efficient handling of goods.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING CRANE FORKS?

The use of crane forks provide similar benefits to using other types of lifting equipment, including improved efficiency, an increased lifting capacity, and versatility in handling large palletized materials. Crane forks can have a lifting capacity of up to 5000kg, making them suitable for a wide range of palletized goods, this is a much higher load than the average forklift can manage.

Furthermore crane forks can minimise accidents, and save aisle space. Overall, the use of crane forks can lead to improved work efficiency and safety when handling large palletized materials.

The largest benefit of using a crane fork however, is the versatility it provides. Whilst forklifts are still required in some cases, particularly when extremely precise placement is required, crane fork attachments mean that the same crane can be used for an increased number of tasks, saving both cost and space, which is especially beneficial in tightly budgeted situations.
